Our cosmetic dental treatments include:
Teeth Whitening
Our teeth naturally discolor as we age, through the foods we eat. Over time, the enamel of your teeth can wear away and expose the dentin. Food, especially berries, coffee, tea, and soda are the main culprits of teeth staining. As we age, teeth can also become more absorbent and vulnerable to staining. The professional whitening we provide at Dobbs & Adkins, DMD, LLC is considered the safest and most effective method to whitening teeth.
Veneers
If teeth are badly stained beyond the point that professional whitening won’t be effective or if teeth are misshapen or crooked, veneers are the way to go. Veneers are wafer-thin pieces of porcelain or plastic cemented over the front of the tooth to change to color or shape. This procedure usually entails three visits: diagnosis and treatment planning, tooth preparation, and bonding. A final follow-up appointment will be made two weeks afterwards.
Composite Bonding
This procedure is used to change or alter the shape and color of a tooth to help it fit seamlessly with the rest of the mouth or bite. This low-cost procedure is ideal for patients with misshapen, broken, or cracked teeth. The bond can be polished to match color of the surrounding teeth.
Porcelain Crowns
When there’s not enough tooth left to build from or the tooth is too decayed for a filling, a porcelain crown might be the best option. A crown, or cap, is placed on the tooth in order to restore strength and stability to your mouth.
Extractions
If a tooth can’t be saved by a filling or crown, extraction is the last resort. A tooth that has been badly damaged or broken will require removal from its socket in the bone. Wisdom teeth (3rd Molars) are often extracted when there’s little to no room in your mouth for them to erupt. If left in, they can cause pain and discomfort.
Dental Implants
Dental implants are titanium posts that are surgically placed into the jawbone. The implant is positioned beneath the gumline allowing us to mount a crown or bridge into that particular area. Implants won’t come loose, will last a lifetime and look and feel just like your natural teeth. In some cases implants can also be used to retain loose dentures, ensuring a tight, comfortable fit.
Invisalign
Skip the wires and brackets, and gain the straight smile you have been dreaming of with Invisalign! This system uses a series of clear aligners to help straighten your teeth. The aligners are made using 3D computer imaging technology, and are worn for about two weeks at a time. Because the aligners are removable, you are able to eat what you want.
